About Barbelle

in Canton, GA

Dr. Loren founded Barbelle Pelvic Rehab for the women of Cherokee County in 2022 when she saw a need to bring modern, high-quality 1:1 care in pelvic floor physical therapy to the community of Canton, GA.

We aren't corporate. We are a small women-owned local business. We celebrated our 3rd year in business and have transformed over 1,000 lives locally.

What makes us different:

We believe in treating the whole you, not just your symptoms.

Think of us as the holistic side of pelvic floor physical therapy.

Your pelvic floor works as ONE member in a team.

Focusing on Kegels and only the pelvic floor will miss the mark for long-term results.

You can’t just focus on one player on the team if you want to win the game, right?

Our famous method is designed to look at how your entire body impacts your pelvic floor symptoms to address your unique root cause.

We are a fitness-forward pelvic floor physical therapy company.

What that means for you is we incorporate hands-on treatments with progressive exercises that will actually get your to your goal.

You get expert care, every single time. We are not a jack of all trades company.

We don't use unskilled "techs" to lead you through your exercises.

Every session is intentional with a doctor of physical therapy who actually knows pelvic floor PT—in fact, we spend all day doing it!

What that means for you is simple: you'll be working with someone who truly understands your issues and has helped countless others just like you find relief and get their lives back.

Our mission is bigger than just treating symptoms. We're here to provide our patients with life-changing results so that they can thrive in their lives and in the community like they were meant to.

Because when you feel confident in your body’s ability again, everything else becomes possible, right?

We care about results through quality care and if you do too, this is for you.

Dr. Loren Carver is a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor dysfunction. She graduated from Emory University in 2015 with her doctorate in physical therapy.

She went on to treat various orthopedic conditions—necks, backs, ankles, feet, arms, shoulders and hips—before finding her true passion in helping women restore confidence and quality of life through pelvic floor physical therapy.

She gets asked all the time: what made you start this field?

The answer takes her back to a time when she and her husband were hoping to start trying for a family. She loved weight training and exercise but truly felt worried that all of that would come to a screeching halt due to "what happens when you have kids."

But there was something deeper driving her fear. Loren remembers her mother sitting out, dealing with her own pelvic floor issues and limiting her activity—watching how it impacted the time they could enjoy together. Her mom has since passed, but Loren didn't want that to be her reality or the reality of those around her.

Looking back, Loren didn't realize initially that as a high school gymnast she had been living with her own signs of pelvic floor dysfunction: back pain and chronic constipation, lower abdomen bloating and distention. Once she realized these things were all connected to the pelvic floor, it made her wonder—how many people are suffering in silence, or worse, without even knowing it can get better?

Once she knew this was her passion, she threw herself into learning from multiple courses and mentors that have shaped the way she practices today. Her journey included getting Pelvic Health Certified through Evidence in Motion, becoming a Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, and training as a Pregnant and Postpartum Athleticism Coach.

She did this to help bridge the gap between conventional pelvic rehab methods and up-to-date, current best practices. She helps active women restore pelvic floor health and confidence in their bodies.

Working in a general outpatient clinic in Georgia, she realized something was missing. She decided to branch out on her own to create the vision of care she herself would want.

Working in a clinic that prioritized volume of patients over life-changing quality care was no longer in alignment with her heart.

She founded Barbelle Pelvic Rehab in 2022 in Canton, GA. She started treating modestly in patients' homes, and as word spread about the results she was getting, her practice grew rapidly—and so did her team.

They are now a multi-clinician practice that provides 1:1 quality care to people of all ages with her signature methodology: Release, Reload, Return.

She has walked through her own pelvic floor struggles and knows firsthand the impact it has on your day-to-day life.

Loren is still lovingly married to her husband Jason. In 2022, the same year she started the practice, they received unexpected news—they were facing complete infertility and began the process of pursuing embryo adoption.

Rather than let this derail her mission, she channeled this experience into her work. She's excited to use the skills she has learned to help thousands of people experience life-changing results, drawing from her own journey through both triumph and heartbreak.

Loren has since added to her skill set pelvic health rehab focused on supporting women's fertility—understanding both the physical and emotional complexities that come with this journey.

It's her true joy and honor to care for the community and you.

There is so much hope.

Our Method

1. Release

Identify the root cause your postpartum symptoms like leakage, back pain, painful sex and pelvic heaviness (for example). We will start hands-on therapy and treatment aimed at lengthening the tissue first, decreasing pain, treating scar tissue, trigger points, muscle spasms, fascia limitations and joint stiffness.

2. Reload

Focus on addressing strength around the pelvis, pelvic floor, deep core, abdominals and hips. Main goal is to address asymmetries, continue to work on scar tissue and mobility to set you up for the last phase of rehab.

3. Return

This is where the magic happens. In the return phase we focus on the activities like jumping, lifting objects (because babes are heavy!), single leg activities so we can get you all the way back to your desired goal and be the mom you’ve always wanted to be without pelvic floor symptoms!

Mission

To create truly life changing results through encouraging and world-class care for pelvic health.

Vision

Support for women, children and men in all stages of life so they can thrive in their family and community roles with the confidence they deserve.
