what they’re saying
Kind words from our clients
Dr. Loren is hands down the best doctor I’ve ever seen for anything, ever. And I’ve seen gobs of doctors. I came to her practice as a first time pregnant woman, someone who has also had my hip dislocated in the past and has had systemic mobility issues. She addresses it all. She is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable, and has answers for every single question I ask. She explains what she’s doing and why, and also really works to get to the root issue of a problem and treat that instead of just treating symptoms. She’s absolutely brilliant, and I’m so so glad I found her. She has helped me address pain I’ve had for going on 21 years now, and finally getting some relief has been life changing. If you’re on the fence, do yourself a favor and invest in treatment and invest in yourself. You absolutely will not regret it.

Absolutely AMAZING! My only regret is that I wish I would have started pelvic therapy way sooner. I had my son four years ago, and ever since my body has felt foreign to me. I am terrible at investing in myself… being a busy mom and running a small business – leaves little time to pour back into myself. Dr. Kristen has been wonderful to help me understand my body and what I can be doing to better myself. Each week I feel stronger and build more self confidence in my new body. I now love it more than I did before!

Barbelle Pelvic Rehab is such an amazing Pelvic Floor PT in the Canton/Cherokee County area! I recently started seeing Dr. Loren Carver and she is really sweet and super knowledgeable and compassionate in the care she provides to her patients! I am so glad I found her cause she is hands down the best Pelvic Floor Therapists I have seen and I really like how she has a 3 method and teaches her patients how to lift weights and do exercises in between sessions! I promise it’s worth the money!! I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for a really good pelvic PT! 😊

Pelvic therapy is not just for expecting mothers and postpartum bodies. When I seen Dr.Kristen I was on my third major abdominal surgery in a years time and 3 weeks post operation from a large middle abdominal incision. I was uncomfortable, stressed, and embarrassed to talk about the things going on with my recovery. I have been powerless and vulnerable for a year, because with each surgery I’ve had, I would lose so much time to recovery. Dr.Kristen has helped me navigate recovery with skill and has even celebrated my physical successes. Most importantly I’ve been able to recover in a judgement free space with an exceptional professional. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about this business. From the start, working with the This was one of the best choices I have ever made for myself and my personal health. After 2 c-sections, I was losing hope that my pregnant shape would ever go away. Dr. Kristen was amazing and so easy to work with. I learned tips to optimize my health and exercises that allowed me to feel connected to the abdomen area again. I have strength and energy that I haven’t felt in years. I highly recommend Barbelle Pelvic Floor Therapy for a rewarding journey. The staff is super sweet and happy to answer any questions or concerns you have! Highly recommended for all women!!

I have had the most wonderful experience with Barbelle Pelvic Rehab. They listen to me, I first went to a glute workshop only to realize that my low back pain was more involved than just having weak glutes. Learning the proper coordination of breath work while being guided by Dr. Loren through the proper strengthening exercises has been extremely helpful. She takes her time to properly evaluate, educate and train so that you get the desired results. Everyone in the office is so very nice and helpful. You will feel well cared for at Barbelle!

I have had the most wonderful experience with Barbelle Pelvic Rehab. They listen to me, understands my priorities and goals and helps me identify other areas to improve. I drive 45-60 min north of the city to go once per month and it is TOTALLY worth it. I’m so glad to have found them via Instagram. I feel strong and prepared for the remainder of my pregnancy.

After a year of major surgeries, including a full hysterectomy, due to ovarian tumors, I finally feel like I am getting my life back by attending Barbelle Pelvic Rehab. A full hysterectomy and the loss of my fertility at age 29 were unexpected, but Dr. Loren is helping me gain back my womanhood and equipping me with proper exercises to recover with excellence! I am mentally, emotionally, and physically getting better every week. Not only is she physically teaching different stretches and exercises, but she also takes the time to educate her clients about pelvic floor muscles and how they connect to the rest of the body. I am only three sessions into the program, and my pelvic muscles are strengthening, my scar tissue is healing, my constipation is relieving, and I am on the path to pain-free sex with my husband! I am so thankful for Dr. Loren’s patient care and treatments to help me feel like myself again after a life-changing year. I recommend Barbelle Pelvic Rehab to any ovarian cancer patients or anyone who has undergone major pelvic surgeries like me.

pelvic pain
I have been a patient of Barbelle Pelvic Rehab for several months. During my treatments, I have found much relief in having “a plan”. As a person that has suffered pelvic injury and has other pelvic floor issues, having a plan has brought me comfort in knowing I’m not in this alone. They have helped me recognize pain triggers, ways to relieve my pain, and we are working on strengthening exercises to help support my pelvic floor. There’s no need to suffer in silence or go it alone! The team at Barbelle are amazing and definitely worth giving them a call and discussing a treatment plan for you.

After numerous attempts with other physical therapists, Loren corrected a torn labrum in my hip and a pelvic torsion. I’m now back 100% to my previous exercise regime after modifying for a year and a half. 10/10, highly recommend

Would recommend Barbelle Pelvic Rehab to all my family and friends. After working with Barbelle, I’ve noticed significant improvement in multiple conditions; she is an attentive listener and developed a personalized plan to help me feel better. Everyone in the office is so friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. They even have a baby swing so I could bring my daughter!

Dr. Loren Carver is the absolute best. She’s professional, fun, and super knowledgeable. She’s made such a difference in my postpartum healing. I was suffering from diastisis and she helped me improve it significantly. She also taught me so much in terms of how to safely move my body so I could get back to doing all the things I could do before pregnancy. I enjoyed working with her so much. If you’re suffering from any core weakness or pelvic floor issues, she will help you achieve the results you’re looking for!

The team have been fantastic! Kim is so easy to get in touch with and makes scheduling so simple. They made me feel so comfortable and encouraged. She was very thorough and explained everything really well to me while also listening to everything I was telling her about my pain I was experiencing. Thank you both!

I’ve only had a handful of sessions so far with Dr. Loren and to say I actually look forward to going to my PT sessions is an understatement. Because I know I’m going to get a hell of a workout but most importantly I am conquering a lot of issues in a matter of minutes and those tiny wins are everything. One of my favorite things about Dr. Loren is that mid-session if something isn’t connecting for me she takes her time to really think of what else to do. Like, it’s not cookie cutter. You can tell she is intentionally thinking of my issues and how to best approach it for my body and the current situation. Seriously 10/10!

I was referred to Dr. Loren by my urologist after several months of lower abdominal pain and frequent urination. At first, I didn’t know what to expect in regards to pelvic floor physical therapy. As a physically active male in my thirties, I was under the impression that this type of therapy was targeted mostly towards postpartum patients. From the moment we began my first treatment, Dr. Loren educated me on the importance of pelvic floor health for both women and MEN! She is very knowledgeable and creates a comfortable and professional atmosphere. Most importantly, she helped me narrow my diagnosis down to a tight pelvic floor. Through her therapeutic treatments, I’ve had significant improvements in my symptoms and I’m back to doing all the activities that I love. I can’t thank Dr. Loren enough and recommend that any men out there suffering from similar symptoms, look into Barbelle Pelvic Rehab!

I cannot sing enough praises for Barbelle Pelvic Rehab!!! She listened to every little symptom I had and took it seriously! And she always had an exercise to try to help alleviate the symptom. Their program moves efficiently, she truly wants you to improve so you can graduate from the program and resume regular life/exercise. Every woman should seek out pelvic floor therapy, no matter how in shape they are, how they delivered, or how old. This is a life changer!! Kim and Laura at the front desk are absolute angels. They make scheduling easy and they are willing to help babysit during your session, which is such a kindness!! I know I wouldn’t be where I am today post partum without Barbelle Pelvic Rehab. Thank y’all so much for being my biggest postpartum cheerleaders and for getting me strong again!!

Dr Loren is amazing. I am 36 years postpartum. I knew nothing about pelvic floor dysfunction and how it can affect so many other areas from your feet to your back. Dr Loren listens and tailors your therapy to specifically work on your individual issues. I feel amazing and joyful to have my body working as it should. Thank you thank you Dr Loren!

I love Barbelle!! As a c-section mama, I have not liked that area of my body for a long time. After just a few sessions & dry needling my scar tissue, I saw immediate results in mobilizing my scar tissue. I have nerve feeling there now & can “suck in” again, plus less discomfort on a daily basis. For the first time in almost 12 years, I feel like I can finally get some of my mommy tummy weight off and I do not have to accept that shelf anymore. I also have had hip and knee pain for years. With her gentle approach, I am feeling more confident and comfortable in my body than I have in years! She listens to my concerns, and when certain stretches are not working for me, she works with me to modify what is best for my body and teaches me how to recognize that I am engaging the correct muscle groups and stretching to protect my back. I started this journey to help with pain and discomfort. What I did not realize is how much trauma lives in your body and the burden that can carry. This is a safe and therapeutic place to release that pain from your past and learn to love yourself again! As a woman, I am advocating for myself and it is very empowering to heal from this in an emotional and physical way.

5 Stars for Barbelle Pelvic Rehab!! I started seeing Dr. Loren prior to delivering my 3rd baby. She helped me work on my breathing, releasing my pelvic floor muscles, and suggested various positions for birth. The birth of this baby was the easiest as far as pushing goes and I had no tearing for the first time ever! All thanks to Dr. Loren! Since having the baby, we have been working on strengthening my core and pelvic floor. I have seen major improvements and less pain in general. Dr. Loren works with me to achieve realistic goals and assigns homework that fits into my busy schedule. I love visiting the office and the positive energy the entire space and staff offer.

After three years of seeing various doctors, I was finally referred to Barbelle. They quickly diagnosed my pelvic floor issues and started strengthening and stretching therapy. She has also helped tremendously with chronic constipation. After 4 visits I am already seeing improvements and would highly recommend this practice. Pelvic floor issues are not as common in men, so few practitioners are trained to address, but they specialize in this treatment!

I met Dr. Loren in October of 2022 after being referred by my urologist for post menopausal pelvic floor dysfunction and CUTI. Little did I know how crucial pelvic floor health is for overall health! As an active mom of three (now adults), and Mimi of one (soon to be two) my quality of life was being greatly affected by my many issues. Working with Loren has me well on my way to healing to keep up with my busy life! She is kind and compassionate and her dedication to her field, and pursuit of excellence is SECOND TO NONE! If I could give her 20 stars I would!!
Not only do I encourage anyone to see her for help, I urge you not to wait!! You ABSOLUTELY will not regret it! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Dr. Loren! You are the best and I’m immensely grateful to you!

I was in severe pain for a year before I found this practice, after a work injury. I became a “couch potato”, unable to do much at all. I’m wrapping up my physical therapy now, three months or so for me, and I’m no longer in pain. Thanks, Doc🤘

Loren is absolutely the best! She makes you feel so comfortable, so professional, doesn’t make you do anything that makes you too uncomfortable, and is just so encouraging. You’ll literally never see anyone else lol. From the moment you walk in there to the moment you leave it’s just such an amazing and helpful experience. Like I’m not even kidding…I just won’t go see anyone else after having an appointment with Loren! She works with men and women so don’t hesitate to set up an appointment!

This was my very first visit with a pelvic floor therapist ever. It was so much more than I expected. I had an overactive bladder issue that was really affecting my life. Dr. Loren Carver was so knowledgeable and had so many great tips. I didn’t realize how many things can affect your pelvic floor. I also didn’t realize how stiff I was and how horrible my range of motion was. I highly recommend going to see her for various issues. I am feeling so much better and my bladder has calmed down!

I began working with Dr. Loren Carver after my second c-section delivery, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. Nearly a year later, I’ve been able to return to my pre-pregnancy workouts without injury, feeling strong and healthy. She gave me one-on-one attention that helped me address long-standing issues and make major improvements in my form. I recommend PFT to every postpartum woman, and Dr. Carver in particular if strength and fitness is part of your life. Thank you, Dr. Loren!

I sought out Loren’s help to improve my endometrial lining thickness for an embryo transfer. After 2 failed transfers and utilizing many other adjunct modalities, I truly feel the quick work Dr. Loren and I (along with a minor change to transfer medication protocol) did made all the difference in the successful outcome of our most recent embryo transfer. She provides the utmost professional and personable care. Never at any point did I feel uncomfortable and she made me feel truly heard and listened to. I will be doing more work with her throughout my pregnancy and will do birth prep with her as well.

pre-conception, pregnancy & postpartum patient
I have been doing therapy with Dr. Loren Carver for postpartum recovery, mainly for diastasis recti after having twins! I wish i would have know after my first baby how helpful and important physical therapy is in the postpartum stages! Her virtual option is the best! I am able to have someone watch my babies for only one hour and complete therapy right in my house! She is very knowledgeable and does an excellent job explaining to me why my “mom body” is doing the things it is in postpartum stages! Through my pregnancy I had many chiro apts to help with hip pain. I wish I would have know to see Loren. She identified my problem right away and began working to help me correct my problem! So glad I found Loren to help me improve my “Mom Body”!

diastasis recti, hip pain, leakage & postpartum patient
After being in a car accident, followed by having a few children, my body was completely out of alignment and hurting in so many places… preventing me from doing regular everyday activities and enjoying life. I have been to several Physical Therapists over the years and none of them were able to pinpoint what needed to be done to have long term relief. I was depressed and ready to give up. Then I met Dr. Loren. Her ability to diagnose the issues and know exactly what needed to happen to fix the problem areas is nothing short of amazing. She helped me learn how to move my body properly again. She was able to help me fire up muscles that I didn’t even realize were not working, and causing my pain to happen. She taught me exercises that help me get out of a painful moment if one ever occurs. Her complete understanding of how the body and muscles function as a whole, is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. She’s truly special. I highly recommend her to anyone, and can’t say enough about the caring and compassionate manner in which she treats her patients. I feel so fortunate to have had her as my therapist.

pain pain, hip pain patient
In February, 2021 I began having lower back and abdominal pain. I had back pain before (bulging/degenerative disk) but this pain was lower in my back and felt different from my previous back problems. Prior to the pain beginning, I was very active, walking 3 miles a day, 4 or 5 days a week. The pain was so debilitating, I had to use a walker to get around. I went to the ER 3 times, had numerous scans, x-rays and ultrasounds but the doctors could not pinpoint the problem. My orthopedic doctor gave me steroid injections in my back and recommended physical therapy but nothing helped. My internal medicine doctor recommended a colonoscopy to make sure it was not gastro related. Everything checked out fine with that. I then had a gall bladder scan and that was fine also. I went to my gynecologist 3 times thinking it was female related. She did an ultrasound and that was fine also. I went to the urologist for a ultrasound and cystoscopy thinking it was urinary tract related but all of that was also fine. Finally, in January of this year (almost a year after the pain started) I went back to the urologist for a follow up visit and he said he thought my pelvic floor muscles were not functioning properly. He referred me to Dr. Carver for pelvic rehab. I started my sessions with her in January and saw some immediate relief. Continuing therapy resolved the remaining problems and I had my last session with her on April 5th. The pain is gone and I’m pretty much back to normal and I’m gradually getting back into my walking routine. I had no idea that pelvic muscles could have such an impact on my overall well-being. Dr. Carver is an excellent therapist and I’m grateful for all that she did for me. She was extremely professional, caring and concerned about my progress and I feel like I finally have my life back! Thanks again, Dr. Carver for all that you did.

Urine leakage is NOT normal!!! For years we’re told it’s just how things go after having a baby. It does NOT have to be like that!! I had some leakage with exercise and with only a few short weeks my problem had completely resolved! Loren is an amazing therapist, listening to concerns, performing assessments and then tailoring your therapy treatment to you and your goals. We even got rid of some chronic hip pain that was totally related to my pelvic floor, who knew?!. My therapy has truly been life changing. No more leakage – without expensive, possibly ineffective, surgery. No more hip pain, no more painful intercourse. Everyone needs Loren in their lives.

leakage, hip pain, pelvic pain patient
When you go from a year of endless appointments and support from medical professionals while pregnant and those few weeks postpartum, it was very difficult to continue to struggle alone with pain and discomfort where my scar tissue remained months after my very long labor and fast delivery. I was told about pelvic floor therapy while pregnant, so I began researching, unsure of whether it would help me since I didn’t have the “typical” symptoms of a weak floor. I was so grateful Dr. Loren popped up on my radar. The incredibly informative videos on her social media pages revealed to me the help available that I needed to return fully to myself again. She made me feel comfortable and hopeful and was able to pinpoint and educate me on my pelvic issues, then helped me with exercises, (including some for my diastases recti) and how to improve my scar tissue and discomfort during intercourse. HIGHly recommend booking an appointment because like me, you may not know what you’re missing until you do!

In my mid 40’s and in relatively decent shape. However, had dealt with severe back issues for the last 3 years following 4 disc herniation’s and ALWAYS in some kind of discomfort. Began PT after 3 months post op major fusion surgery. I had pain in the hip, glut, and quad area. Loren immediately said she thought it was weak abdominal floor muscles. After two weeks and only 2 sessions I feel so much better. Thank you Loren for the relief and great therapy!

Dr. Loren and her team are absolutely phenomenal. I was experiencing difficulty emptying my bladder and some leakage during exercise. After one visit with Dr. Loren I was equipped with exercises to do in order to help the leakage and tips to help with fixing the emptying problem I was having. I am a personal trainer and licensed massage therapist; Dr. Loren has helped several of my clients as well. Dr. Loren is incredibly knowledgeable, always prompt, personable and understanding. She somehow manages to keeps things of this nature from being weird and awkward, too! I wish I could give her 10 stars.

I recently completed a PT regimen early. Since we are still operating under COVID guidelines my Dr’s diagnosis had to be done without a physical exam resulting in an incomplete over the phone diagnosis. Upon exam by PT Loren Carver we embarked on a therapy plan she designed for all my symptoms. She was very thorough. Plus as challenges presented themselves she gave me alternative exercises that worked. Over the years I’ve had injuries or conditions that called for PT. This was by far my most positive experience. I highly recommend Loren to anyone in need of PT.

I’m so thankful that Loren has been part of my treatment team. She is the absolute best. I’ve had pain with penetration for years, which makes any internal work anxiety provoking. Her methods have always been adaptable to my pain levels. She is so patient, and her bedside manner creates an environment that feels safe. Loren’s ability to listen and empathize is unmatched. I also appreciate her holistic approach to how all parts of the body are connected. I’ve progressed in my goals, which seemed out of reach for years until now.

Loren has helped me get my life back! When I first started treatment I had constant lower abdominal pain, a constant feeling of needing to urinate and significant urgency. Loren listened to all my symptoms, answered all my questions and came up with a game plan to treat me. Fast forward to today and I have no lower abdominal pain, use the restroom much less and have an overall better quality of life. I would highly suggest Loren to anyone experiencing pelvic issues.

Dr. Loren is so knowledgeable about the pelvic floor and how it’s connected to everything. She was able to heal my pelvic floor and fix my ab separation within just a couple of weeks (and I had severely injured my pelvic floor after child birth!) Because the pelvic floor is so connected to everything, she also helped me relieve my back pain, loosen up my very tight hips, and even help me with a hamstring injury! She’s amazing on all accounts. I can’t recommend her enough!

I saw Dr. Loren Carver after a bilateral mastectomy. Due to removal of lymph nodes in my left axilla. I could not raise or use my left arm and had no strength in it. I had bad scarring on my chest and in the armpit that prevented me from being able to raise my arm. Dr. Carver worked on increasing my range of motion of my left arm with exercises and stretching. With each passing week I could see and feel the improvement in the mobility of my left arm. She also massaged the scarred areas at each session. That helped break up the scar tissue, which helped allow more movement of my arm. Dr. Carver explains and demonstrates the exercises. She shares the joy of your success with you. Thanks to Dr. Carver I now have full use of my left arm and no more pain in the scar tissue.
