Postpartum Common Complaints
Urinary Leakage
Leakage is a common but not normal. After 3 months postpartum research reports it is unlikely to go away on its own.
Ab Separation
Abdominal separation or having a hard time activating your lower abs? Retraining the deep core system can improve how you look and feel.
Pain with Sex
Overactive pelvic floor muscles, lack of sensation, scar tissue from tearing can all impact how sex feels postpartum. We can help.
Pelvic Heaviness
Pelvic heaviness is typically due to both tension and decreased endurance in the pelvic floor muscles. It responds well to our 3 step method.
Prolapse
Heaviness and feeling like an organ is coming out is actually very common. Most mild- moderate prolapse patients report no more symptoms after finishing their rehab.
Lower Back/SIJ Pain
The pelvic floor, hips and deep abs are critical structures to prevent pain in these areas. We address these complaints with postpartum rehab, it might be your missing link.
Core Weakness
We work closely with our patients to ensure they know how to use their abdominals the correct way. Difficulty using the lower abdominals can contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction.
C-Section Scar
Scar tissue in the abdomen can impact bowel function, abdominal wall strengthening, bladder symptoms and can painful. We work within a protocol to improve tissue movement. Buh-Bye c-section shelf.
Pubic Bone Pain
Many muscles attach to the pubic bone to support it. We work on reducing tension and increasing strength so you no longer have pain with those pesky movements with your legs apart.

“Urine leakage is NOT normal!!! For years we’re told it’s just how things go after having a baby. It does NOT have to be like that!! I had some leakage with exercise and with only a few short weeks my problem had completely resolved! Loren is an amazing therapist, listening to concerns, performing assessments and then tailoring your therapy treatment to you and your goals. We even got rid of some chronic hip pain that was totally related to my pelvic floor, who knew?!. My therapy has truly been life changing. No more leakage – without expensive, possibly ineffective, surgery. No more hip pain, no more painful intercourse. Everyone needs Loren in their lives. .”
“Dr. Loren Carver is the absolute best. She’s professional, fun, and super knowledgeable. She’s made such a difference in my postpartum healing. I was suffering from diastasis and she helped me improve it significantly. She also taught me so much in terms of how to safely move my body so I could get back to doing all the things I could do before pregnancy. I enjoyed working with her so much. If you’re suffering from any core weakness or pelvic floor issues, she will help you achieve the results you’re looking for!.”
“I began working with Dr. Loren Carver after my second c-section delivery, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. Nearly a year later, I’ve been able to return to my pre-pregnancy workouts without injury, feeling strong and healthy. She gave me one-on-one attention that helped me address long-standing issues and make major improvements in my form. I recommend PFT to every postpartum woman, and Dr. Carver in particular if strength and fitness is part of your life. Thank you, Dr. Loren!”
The Method
RELEASE
In the release phase we teach your body awareness of the pelvic floor, breathing mechanics (game changer) and work on any joint and scar tissue restrictions build a foundation for strength.
RELOAD
In the reload phase we work to strengthen the areas that are weak, improving core activation and syncing pelvic floor with deep core during exercise. This sets you up for good results in the next phase.
RETURN
In the return phase we lift, squat, jump, bend, jump rope and work strategy. This is where all you have worked on really comes together and the hard work pays off.
